The ecoTOTE
An ecoTOTE is a 4.5L glass bottle, with a screw cap that is certified as safe for use with spirits. This is contained within a protective HDPE and Aluminium enclosure that is designed for ease of recycling.
Each ecoTOTE can do up to 150 cycles, replacing over 1000 single use glass bottles and all the associated cardboard boxes and other single-use packaging. -

ecoPLANT Bottling Facility
At our ecoPLANT bottling facility in Lanesborough, Co. Longford we either intake bulk spirits from other brands or fill our own spirits into ecoTOTES.
We also send our products in bulk to ecoSPIRITS operators in other markets, so our products can be distributed locally in those markets in returnable format. -

When full, ecoTOTES are dispatched directly to bars, hotels, restaurants and festival venues.

Pouring Solutions for Venues
Venues are provided with individual smartPOUR units for each product. These allow dispense of single, double and custom measures, as well as being calibrated for refilling full bottles for use on optics or in the speed rail.

Return and Refill
We take the empty ecoTOTES back to our ecoPLANT, wash and sanitise them prior to refilling and dispatch. The whole delivery, return and refill cycle for each ecoTOTE is tracked by a smart, cloud-based software platform, CircularONE™, giving full traceability.

Sling Shot Distilled Irish Gin
Is one of the producer’s flagship brands because Lough Ree is one of the first spirits producers to distill peat as a botanical, as a flavour for gin. The peat creates a rich and smooth texture, while adding an earthy finish to this bold Irish gin.
Bart’s Blended Irish Whiskey
Is another one of the producer’s best-selling brands, and it is the first Irish whiskey globally to be packaged in ecoTOTE format. The whiskey is a complex blend of five different whiskies and is named after the founder’s father, Bart Clancy, as a legacy to his memory.
How does ecoSPIRITS compare to other bulk supply and refill systems?
ecoSPIRITS is a means for spirits to be supplied in bulk, but still in a glass bottle, with a food safe cap, and all components are reused.
Most other spirits products supplied in bulk rely on single-use “recyclable” plastic containers (pouches, bag-in-box, key kegs). Many of these containers have been designed for use with sauces, dairy products or lower abv drinks such as beer and wine, and have not been tested for use with spirits at 40% ABV, and as such, risk the possibility of plastic leaching into the spirit, which could affect flavour or worse, put consumer’s health at risk.
In addition to this, bulk packages are difficult to recycle- most contain multiple different types of plastic and can’t be easily recycled in conventional recycling systems. In total, the EU only recycles approximately 42% of plastic packaging by weight, that figure will be much lower for bulk spirits containers, as in reality most of these end up in residual waste streams and are incinerated.
The ecoSPIRITS model comes with a smartPOUR unit, programmed to serve consistent single, double or custom pours, minimising losses and spillages and simplifying stock control.
